Sometimes Should What

Sometimes the simplest of words have the biggest impact.
Sometimes less is more.
Sometimes.

Sometimes the smallest of movement explains it all,
Sometimes just a thought suffices,
Sometimes.

Should I dream smaller to feel more complete,
Should I dream at all,
In fear of disappointment.

Should I dream as grand as I know how to dream,
Should I dream of a perfect life for me,
In hopes it all comes true.

What would I do if I could do whatever I wanted,
What would I do with that life,
What?

What would life be with every desire fulfilled,
What would life be with emotions satisfied,
What?

Sometime, Should, What?

It all exists within me if I trust myself and listen to my heart,
It is already all fulfilling, for I have everything I need.
It is already…I just need to learn to belong to what already exists.

Only Time

Only morning can bring the new,
From the fresh smell and morning dew.
I wonder exactly what I’ll do,
With this untouched day for me and you.

Only afternoon can bring the high noon sun,
From the heat on my skin, to the poolside fun.
I wonder exactly what I’ll have done,
In this great afternoon, once I have begun.

Only the night can bring the stars that shine,
With cool crisp air, and the dark shadows in line.
I wonder exactly what I will design,
In this darkness of night I call mine.

It's Not, Just

I’m so interested I’ve become interesting,
Learning so much that I have become the teacher.
Once the listener, the observer,
My role has switched and so has the cycle of knowledge.

I’m not an expert, just time tested,
I’m not a hero, just been around long enough to save the day.

Where do I balance the new beginning,
With the old foundation built from beginnings.
They never end, just transform,
Making my role have a larger impact to those around me.

I’m not a king, just a natural leader,
I’m not the creator, just someone who loves creating for others.

Will my impact be remembered by those remembering,
The history of my actions that elevated my presence.
Once alone, now the family tree,
My adult role now must inspire the younger generation.

I’m not father of the year, just a dad,
I’m not perfect, just a man perfecting life’s opportunity.

Entitled to Nothing, Grateful for Everything

I’ve dreamed of living free, and I am free,
Yet I still feel captive,
To the daily of what I must do to live.

If I could change the stars of my brothers,
Providing them some freedom,
I know everyone around them would benefit.

What is abundance with tightened hands,
Loosen the grip please,
And watch those you help blossom.

The funneled wealth divides us,
And I’m not asking for all my burdens to be resolved,
Just the opportunity to realize my potential.

I worry that sickness prevails,
Cause we wait to pass on the richness of life to those we love,
Instead of alleviating the daily to spend the quality time in health.

Invest our time and resources in the promise,
And not dump it to the ocean floor in a sinking ship,
Letting others squander the truths.

I’m not entitled to anything,
I am grateful for all things,
I just wish those who could change my life infinitely for the better,
Without monetarily effecting theirs could see,
My stress dissipate,
My health enhanced,
And my life’s outlook, appear more like my dreams.

My ration to this model is small,
But those less fortunate than me stand the same,
Their problems real.

Their daily just as consuming,
And I wish I could alleviate it for them to realize their potential,
Just as I wish for mine.

I loosen my hands to my abundance,
To be more connected to those directly in my life,
Hoping I can make a difference.

I know there’s others more stressed then me,
And if I can keep their ship afloat without sinking mine,
I want to give them hope.

I’m not entitled to anything,
I am grateful for everything,
I just wish for all of us that can change a life infinitely for the better,
Without monetarily effecting our own could see,
Stress dissipate,
Health enhanced,
And a life outlook, that looks more like a dream.
